Mother’s Day will be here soon, so you know it won’t be long until the crafters will come out in force to create their Mother’s Day crafts. This means some of them will need printable vintage Mother’s Day cards, which their creations. Many crafters prefer vintage, because it has a traditional look that just goes right along with celebrating moms.

The same idea goes for scrapbooking. Whether digital or traditional scrapbooks are preferred, vintage art makes them more beautiful. Take for example, these vintage flower border embellishments. They were common in the Victorian era and could be found in the scrapbooks of genteel ladies. They were often hand-painted and used to ring the word “Mother” as a means of honoring the matriarch of the family. And that tradition continues to this day as modern scrapbookers celebrate Mother’s Day.

And the very same embellishments that work so well to honor Mom can also make distinctive hand-crafted Mother’s Day cards. The timeless ring of colorful flowers, are a perfect centerpiece in a Mother’s Day card. Also, they are perfect as a dimensionalembellishment. By printing the border on card stock, the inside and outside edges can be cut out and laid over the top of a photo of Mom. Her photo will appear in the “window”created, and the result will be the paper equivalent of a Victorian picture frame.

Those who don’t consider themselves crafters can also download a document that will allow them to make a free Mother’s Day gift. Just choose one of these Mothers Day certificates and download it. The certificates are already designed and include the date and a message, so they just have to be signed once they’re printed. Naturally, the certificate would also be nice framed. The frame doesn’t even have to be fancy to look good. Mom will love it no matter what.

So to honor your mom this Mother’s Day, make it homemade. It will be easy for you, and you might be surprised at the final effect. If you do your mom is sure to be pleased, which will make her love you all the more. She might even request a similar gift next year for Mother’s Day.
