Photo Album How To
Besides being a fantastic way to memorialize major life events, photo albums are great for sharing your most memorable moments with friends and family. Here is a photo album primer to help get you started memorializing the important events in your life.
Photo albums are great for any reason and any season. One of the best things about photo albums is you can do whatever you want with them. They can be created for each year or for each special event or for any other reason you can think of. The point is, you should arrange them in some way, and be consistent with them. You can choose to create an album for each year. Or, you can have one album for Christmas, one for Halloween, one for Birthdays, one for your wedding, and one for births.
Albums are most typically created for holidays or special occasions. These are not the only times that people take photos, so don’t think they are the only time you can create an album.
Basically there are two types of photo albums available, digital and physical. With a digital album you can store a lot more photographs in a lot less space. You can make copies easier, and it is also usually a lot cheaper, as you do not have to pay for each print. If you make a digital album, make sure you label the photos with names, dates, and events so that you know when and where the photo was taken. Another nice thing is that you can arrange your photos into folders to make them easier to locate later.
With a physical album a computer is not required to view the photos. Instead you have hard copies of them, which is often nicer than looking at them on a computer screen. You should organize these albums into sections, and write dates, names and events on them so that you can recall them later.
The way you protect your albums will depend on what type of album you decide to go with. With digital albums there are a number of ways you can protect your photographs. For instance, you can back them up on an alternate hard drive, put them on discs, CDs, or DVDs, store them on Internet storage sites, or just post them to sites like Facebook. Using Facebook to store your photos will allow you to view them should you ever lose the original, however the quality will not be as high as if you make a CD or disc of the photos.
If you are protecting a physical album the first thing you want to do is make sure that the album itself is acid free and photo safe. Then you want to make sure you have a backup copy, or digital copy of the photograph in case something happens to it. It is best to have albums in both forms.
