If you have always wanted a Wall Mounted Wine Rack then you might want to consider build your own. If you are handy this can be an easy job to do.

You can make a wall mounted wine rack easily by using an old kitchen cabinet. Purchase an one cabinet at a garage sale or perhaps use your own old cabinet if you have one.

Simple Steps to Creating Your Own Wall Mounted Wine Rack:

* Start by taking the door off of the cabinet. It is also important that you take any shelves and brackets out of the cabinet.

* You will need to measure the height of the cabinet to determine how many shelves it should have.

* Cut shelves using a saw for your wall mounted wine rack. Make sure you make a front and back for each shelf.

* Drill 1″ holes in the center of the board for the neck holders. And then determine the width of your cabinet so that you will know how many bottles will fit for your wine rack.

* Especially for the rear, you will need to repeat step 4 by using a 4″ hole cutter. This one is for the back for your wine rack.

* Finish the shelves and the cabinet using a paint or stain and liquor.

* Once your paint or stain is dry it is time to assemble the Wall Mounted Wine Rack. Use brackets to mount the shelves in the front and in the back of your cabinet.

* Once everything is in place you will be able to mount your wine rack on the wall.

Choose your favorite bottle of wine to put in your wine rack. Your family will be surprised with your craftmanship, and you will absolutely proud of yourself. Perhaps you want to celebrate it by drinking your syrah wine.

Perhaps people will start asking you how you created such a good wine rack out of an old cabinet. Who would think a new wine glass racks was actually made from kitchen cabinet?

If you have children in your home, chances are you have lots of old crayons that don’t get used much anymore. Before throwing them out, consider using them to make candles. This can be a great way to turn them into something new and useful again. Most children will love the idea of making candles and enjoy knowing their old crayons were used to make them. Making candles out of crayons can also be a great gift idea.

Before you get started, discuss safety with your children. Since the crayons will have to be melted at a high heat, they may not be able to participate in that part of the candle making process. Assure them that there are many other aspects of the candle making that they can be a part of.

To start, gather your supplies. In addition to the crayons, you will need a wax carton. This can be from milk, fabric softener, or orange juice container. You will also need paraffin wax, two full ice cube trays, a double boiler, and white packing string. If you don’t want to use your double boiler, an old coffee can and a saucepan will work just as well.

Trim the top off of the wax carton, leaving it approximately six inches high. Cut the string for the wick at least 8 inches long. You will later trim the wick to fit the holder. To ensure a wick that burns easier, take three pieces and braid them together. Use smaller pieces of string to tie the ends together. The holders for your candles can be anything you desire as long as they are non-flammable. Pretty vases, glasses, and jars work nicely.

Melt about three pounds of paraffin wax in the double boiler or coffee can. Melting will be faster if the wax is cut into small pieces. The melting process with take about fifteen to twenty minutes. While the wax is melting, peel the papers off of the old crayons. You and your children can choose to separate the colors by lights and darks to have a mix that combines well or you can mix them all together and see what the color ends up being.

For best results, only add the crayons to the wax after it has completely melted. After melthing the crayons and wax, pour the mixture into your candles holders as soon as possible. If you would like to make scented candles, try adding a splash of cinnamon or vanilla to your hot wax mixture.

It is important that the candles be left alone to completely harden. Make sure you have an area where this can be done. It is also important to make sure small children can’t reach them because the wax will stay hot for several hours and can cause serious injuries.

Making candles out of old crayons is a great way to spend the afternoon creating a fun project with your kids!

Forget your scissors and exacto knife, the latest die cutting machine from Provo Craft is amazing! We just love the Cricut Expressions machine. Truly it is a more powerful and much more versatile version of the already smash hit Cricut Create and Personal Cutting Machine. One of the biggest improvements is the size of paper it can handle. It can take sheets almost double the original size. You will absolutely love the many powerful features of the Cricut Expression, it blows the old machines away! Don’t miss out on the amazing reviews of Cricut cartridges .

What are these special features and exactly what does the Expression allow you to do that the original machine does not? The functionality of this machine allows you to cut through vinyl, cardstock and vellum, aside from the usual paper. The larger size of paper lets you cut bigger and better shapes. It also provides more room for creativity because it is effective on either a 12” x 24” or 12” x 12” sized paper.

Cricut products are among the most searched items in online auction sites. For this reason, most of those who want to sell their Cricut products have also turned to online auctions. This is therefore one of the best places for you to get the best value for your money since it gives you the opportunity to buy your machine at a much lower cost than if you get it from a regular retailer. When bidding online, it is best to look for auctions that are nearing its end. This will strengthen the possibility that you will win in the bidding and also ensure that you don’t have to wait too long for the machine to be shipped to you.

We love buying Ebay auctions since you can get deals WAY below MSRP. If the offer includes a free cartridge then you should also read the description of the cartridge to make sure that you don’t already have it in your collection. And be careful not to overlook the shipping cost. There are items that may be offered at a much lower initial bid but does not include free shipping. More often than not, items that do not include free shipping will cost you a lot more in the end than those that have a higher auction price but already includes free shipping so you would do well to compare total costs first. The shipping information is indicated right below the auction price and if you will be charged for shipping then there should be a space where you can enter your zip code. You will then be shown the shipping cost and by adding that cost to the maximum amount that you are willing to bid you will get your total cost. Get your next Discount Cricut Expression Machines with Ebay!

Are you frustrated by the junk piling up in your house? Instead of kicking them to the curb and having them dumped in a landfill site, go through your items and turn them into attractive and useful crafts for your home. Got some empty bottles? Turn them into beautiful candle holders! Got a pile of clothes that are too ratty to donate? Give them a new life as pot holders, place mats or pillow cases. In this article, we’ll show you how to turn some everyday items into crafts that you can use around the house.

Tin cans can be used for a number of craft projects after their contents have been emptied. Turning tuna or cat food cans into candy containers is a practical craft project that is so simple that anyone can do it. After you’ve washed the can thoroughly, paint the outside white. Punch two holes near the top edge on opposite sides and use light weight craft wire or a pipe cleaner to make a handle. Now the can looks like a little basket. To cover the wire, you can use felt or pretty ribbon. To decorate the outside of the can, you can use stamps, stickers, glitter or more craft paint. Line the inside with plastic wrap, paper doilies, or colored cellophane. The candy container will look really pretty and artistic once you put the candy inside.

Napkin rings are an attractive addition to any table even when you’re having a casual family dinner. Save your silver napkin rings for formal occasions and make paper towel tube rings for every day. This is so easy, and is one of safest crafts for young kids to do. You’ll need an assortment of dried beans. If you want a flashier look, you can use plastic gem stones. You’ll also need an empty paper towel tube, glue and scissors. Cut empty paper towel tubes into 1-1/4″ rings. Use the glue to attach the beans or gems to the entire surface area. If you want to make a simpler looking napkin ring, cover the paper towel roll with shelving paper in a pretty pattern before cutting the roll into pieces.

CDs and DVDs often end up in landfill sites where it will take hundreds of years for them to decompose. Because they are shiny and reflective, they are in fact perfect for crafts. Here’s how to turn old or unwanted discs into a high tech letter holder. You’ll need some foam, three or four discs, fabric of your choice, gems or flowers to decorate, a serrated knife, a candle stub or paraffin, a ruler, a wide flat paintbrush, paper towels, scissors, a glue gun and glue sticks, and white craft glue. Cut three or four 5-1/2″ squares from the fabric. For each CD, spread a thin layer of white glue over the label side and smooth a fabric square over glue. Let dry and trim the excess fabric. Cut two 1-1/2″ x 12″ strips from the fabric. Glue the strips around the edge of a foam heart, overlapping as needed. Clip corners and fold excess fabric to bottom and glue to secure. To make inserting the discs easier, first cut 3/8″ deep, equally-spaced parallel grooves into the top of the foam heart. Apply a thin line of white glue along each CD slit and press discs 1/2″ to 3/4″ deep into slit. Glue your choice of decorations to each side of discs and you’re done!

Crafts are a great way to use old objects around your house that may otherwise end up in a landfill site. As a bonus, you can save money by making ordinary household items yourself. Imagine how much you’ll save if you never buy tea towels, pillow cases or holiday ornaments ever again. If you’d like more green craft ideas, then check out craft books, visit craft shows or go online. You’ll find countless ideas for being creative and eco friendly at the same time.
