where can i sell my photographs
I'm an amateur photographer and I do mostly eclectic, modern stuff. Does anyone know any sites I can go to that will let me sell my photos? I've already been to istockphoto, but they dodn't deal with the kind of stuff I do. Any thoughts?
Have you tried:
http://www.fotolia.com/
Also, I tried adding some of my pics on one of them "print on demand" merchandise stores
http://www.equisto.co.uk/perl/store/store.pl?store_id=jdphotographs
(not that anyone ever buys anything from there)

I think you should start your own website. I'd love to see your work.

There are several ways that you can sell you photos.
1)places like istock photo (www.istockphoto.com) will pick them up for stock photos.
2) Make a website: This may not lead to sales right away but more people will see your work and if it is good then yeah you'll get sales but design it so people know they are for sale. So have on there prices and shipping methods.
3) Places like trekearth.com. flickr, treklens.com these sites have a lot of people searching for that right photo and the more you have on them the better
4) Your community; If you have a lot of shots of local places then try adn sell them in the areas that you took them. Sometimes people have an emotional attachment to certain places and will buy them from you.
5) On the street. I have seen this in Shanghai and it looked like a good idea. Sell your photos at markets, on the street and at parties. Always have a few with you and or make a catalog of your stuff.
I hope this helps.
